1/24/2011 - Judge denies Glenn Hagele's motion to seal records. Excerpt from court order: Exhibit One: This letter was written to defendant Hansen (sic) by ACE suggesting it could assist him in collecting on a judgment against plaintiff in an Illinois action. Plaintiff assets (sic) there was no successful claim against him and the Illinois action was dismissed. Assuming plaintiff is correct, that is not a reason to seal the letter. Exhibit two: Plaintiff contends the documents were published on the internet and contain his private information. The abstract of judgment is a public record recorded in 1993. Plaintiff could have sought redaction of his driver's license number and social security number from that judgment in 1993, but he did not. Schedule F, creditors' claims, was filed by plaintiff in his bankruptcy proceeding. This is a public record created by plaintiff. He could have sought redaction in the bankruptcy action but he did not. Sealing the records in Exhibit two in this action would accomplish nothing as they remain public records in the prior actions. INTRODUCTION

The purpose of this site is to expose Glenn Hagele of the Council for Refractive Surgery Quality Assurance (CRSQA) for malicious attacks on damaged LASIK patients, past and current. Glenn Hagele is a con man and cyberbully. Glenn Hagele and CRSQA/USAEyes.org are being sued for defamation and unfair and deceptive trade practices.

Under the ruse of a LASIK patient advocacy organization, Glenn Hagele runs a LASIK patient acquisition service and damaged-patient harassment organization out of his personal residence. Glenn Hagele refers patients who visit his USAEyes.org website to LASIK surgeons who pay a fee. Glenn Hagele provides surgeons with a bogus seal of approval on his USAEYES.org web site to promote their LASIK practices. Glenn Hagele is a high school graduate who is not qualified to certify doctors to perform eye surgery. Read more

The USAEyes.org website is designed to give readers the impression that choosing a LASIK surgeon recommended by Glenn Hagele will reduce the odds of having a bad outcome from LASIK. Glenn Hagele cannot provide a shred of proof that choosing a USAEyes-listed surgeon over another surgeon will make any difference whatsoever in a patient's LASIK outcome.

Why attack damaged LASIK patients?
LASIK patients who suffer complications are bad for business. Unhappy LASIK patients may be very outspoken about the failure of LASIK surgeons to fully disclose risks and complications. Many LASIK patients write about their bad outcomes on LASIK patient bulletin boards and Internet newsgroups. Some damaged LASIK patients put up websites to tell their story. This is exactly what the LASIK industry does not want!

On the USAEyes website in a letter to surgeons applying for CRSQA membership, Hagele brazenly states:

"CRSQA representatives monitor all Internet bulletin boards, newsgroups, and other public forums that include information about refractive surgery... If an anti-refractive surgery zealot makes inflammatory statements, we provide a balanced response."

Glenn Hagele has a long history of patrolling the internet for negative information about LASIK. When he sees it, he attacks. Dr. Richard Lindstrom, former President of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS) and former CRSQA-surgeon, stated the following in an email regarding Glenn Hagele's disputes with outspoken damaged LASIK patients:

"I believe this has become a no win tar baby. When founded by Dan Durrie the charter of this group (CRSQA) seemed reasonable. Now it has deteriorated into a Bagdad, Iraq type scene where there will be no winners, just all losers. I suggest we stay away. It has become a lose/lose and is now very personalized. Glenn seems to see himself as a white night crusading for Laski (sic) and his dissatisfied patient enemies wish to destroy the operation entirely. We cannot win by getting involved. There are not at this time reasonable people on either side. What you read here is just a paragraph in a thick book of similar accusations and counteraccusations including active litigation. Sandy Keller is not ASCRS friend, nor at the moment is Glen Hagele. None of this is good for the field or ASCRS. Stay as far away as you can." Source

This site will document some of the shocking, repulsive, and illegal attacks on damaged LASIK patients by Glenn Hagele, and we will provide the names of surgeons who support this patient harassment organization.

Fortunately, Glenn Hagele has failed in his plan to cause the "demise" of several outspoken damaged LASIK patients. Glenn Hagele's attacks on injured patients have prompted the following:

the resignation of the Chairman of the board of CRSQA, Daniel Durrie

the removal of high profile surgeons from USAEyes.org website

websites being put on the Internet to expose Glenn Hagele's patient harassment organization

Glenn Hagele being reported to several law enforcement agencies for possessing and threatening to publish the social security numbers of several individuals

the filing of a criminal harassment complaint against Glenn Hagele for publication of a female patient's personal identification information

the filing of a lawsuit against Glenn Hagele and CRSQA for defamation and unfair and deceptive trade practices.

Glenn Hagele has certainly caused a lot of trouble for himself by harassing damaged LASIK patients. A reasonable person would realize that harassing injured patients is not in the best interest of any business, particularly one that claims to be a patient advocacy organization. Even so, the harassment, defamation, and publication of patients' personal information continues to this day.

The webmaster of this site has learned that Glenn Hagele recently launched a new organization, Cataract Free America. It appears Glenn Hagele is now targeting the elderly.
